Ningaloo Station: New Build
Website Features: Brochure Site
Ningaloo Station Website & Brand Development
Building a High-Performance Digital Guide for One of Australia’s Most Remote Coastal Destinations
The Opportunity
Ningaloo Station sits along one of Western Australia’s most iconic and remote stretches of coastline. While the location itself is breathtaking, the information available online was fragmented, unclear, and often difficult to navigate.
There was a clear gap in the market for a central, easy-to-use digital guide that could:
- Clearly explain each campsite across the station
- Help travellers understand what to expect in remote conditions
- Provide fast access to the official government booking system
- Offer practical planning support for long-distance travellers
The objective was simple but important: create a clean, reliable, and informative platform that travellers could trust.
The Build
The website was built on WordPress using the Beaver Builder framework, giving us both flexibility and long-term manageability.
A series of custom post types were developed for each campsite location, allowing the structure to remain consistent while making it easy to expand or update individual sites over time.
Key elements of the build include:
- Dedicated pages for each campsite
- Extracted and simplified maps for quick location understanding
- Fully interactive Google satellite maps embedded directly on pages
- Consolidated review sections providing real visitor insight
- Clear pathways to the official booking system
Rather than overwhelming users, the content was structured to guide them step by step through planning, location selection, and booking.
Making Remote Travel Easier to Understand
Camping at Ningaloo Station is not suburban holiday travel. It is remote, rugged, and requires preparation.
To support this, we:
- Consolidated visitor reviews into overview summaries, helping users quickly understand real-world experiences
- Highlighted practical tips and suggestions drawn from those reviews
- Built a dedicated Resources section covering four-wheel driving advice, safety considerations, and remote travel preparation
The result is a website that does more than list campsites. It prepares people properly for the journey.
Custom Travel Calculator
Beyond the core website, we also developed a custom-coded web application: The Great Australian Travel Calculator.
This tool helps travellers estimate the cost of long-distance travel in Australia, factoring in fuel, distance, and other variables. For international visitors especially, it provides perspective on the scale of travel involved and assists with budgeting for extended road trips.
This feature adds genuine utility and positions the site as a practical planning resource, not just an information directory.
SEO Strategy & Content Development
A project of this scale requires more than strong design and development. Behind the scenes, the site structure, content hierarchy, and search strategy were carefully planned to ensure the website performs well in organic search and supports the long-term visibility of Ningaloo Station.
The SEO services, page planning, and content advisory for the project were undertaken by the team at Perth Digital Edge. Their work included defining the page structure, guiding the content framework, and assisting with the development of search-focused content across the site.
This early planning ensured that the new website was not only visually engaging but also structured in a way that allows search engines to clearly understand the content, helping travellers researching Ningaloo Reef accommodation and experiences discover the site more easily.
Performance & Search Results
Within just three months of launch, the website has delivered strong measurable performance:
- Ranking for 884 different keywords
- Over 94,000 impressions in search
- More than 6,000 clicks to the website
- Average ranking position of 6 across all keywords
- Over 65 first place rankings in Google
The site is rapidly climbing across competitive travel and camping search terms and is already becoming a go-to reference point for Ningaloo Station.
A Global Audience
Google Analytics data shows users arriving from across Australia and internationally. This reflects the global relevance of the Ningaloo region as a travel destination.
The site has been structured to serve:
- Domestic travellers planning remote WA trips
- International visitors unfamiliar with Australian travel distances
- Four-wheel drive enthusiasts researching coastal camping
It is already attracting a broad and engaged audience.
The Outcome
NingalooStation.com.au has quickly become a trusted digital resource for one of Western Australia’s most iconic camping regions.
By combining clear information architecture, interactive mapping, consolidated reviews, practical planning tools, and strong SEO foundations, the site has moved beyond being a simple brochure-style website.
It now functions as:
- A travel planning guide
- A remote camping education hub
- A search-driven traffic asset
- A bridge to the official booking system
And most importantly, it is delivering real, measurable results.
