Redesigning a Digital Hub for WA’s Foster Care Community

The Opportunity

Foster Care Association Western Australia (FCAWA) needed a complete website redevelopment to better serve foster carers, prospective carers, and the broader community. The existing site required a modern, professional overhaul with improved navigation, an enhanced resource centre, and dedicated support areas to strengthen the organisation’s digital presence.

Our Approach

We undertook a full redesign of the FCAWA website, focusing on creating a streamlined site structure with improved navigation and clear search functionality. A major component was the development of an enhanced resource centre on the back end, giving full control over versioning and the ability to manage links, videos, downloads, PDFs, and other media through custom fields and taxonomies. The design incorporates a dedicated wellness hub to support foster parents with guidance and curated content, along with a learning lounge offering video-based learning and specialised support. A refreshed membership section was developed to promote sign-ups and present member benefits in a clearer, more inviting layout.

Creative Direction

The creative direction refined the site’s visual and narrative style to deliver a professional yet warm and human-centred experience. All core content was reviewed and rewritten to establish a clear, inclusive tone of voice that resonates with foster carers at every stage of their journey.
