Urbaqua is a not-for-profit consultancy based in Leederville, providing urban water management, environmental policy, planning and natural resource management, hydrology and drainage, coastal and foreshore management, workshop facilitation, and bushfire risk assessment services. The team works in partnership with WA government agencies, councils and developers on the kind of environmental and water management challenges that shape the long-term future of urban landscapes. The site needed to articulate six core service lines and showcase the team’s partnership and project work to a sophisticated public-sector audience.

The brief was a professional services brochure that could carry the authority of a research-led consultancy while remaining warm and approachable to the project partners Urbaqua actually works with. Government agencies, councils and developer clients all have different needs from the site, but they all need to see the depth of capability and the credibility of past work before any conversation gets started.

The structure walks visitors through the six service lines: urban water management, environmental policy and NRM, hydrology and drainage, coastal and foreshore management, workshop facilitation, and bushfire risk assessment. Each service area gets its own dedicated treatment with the level of technical depth that environmental and engineering specifiers expect to see. The project-led navigation drives prospective clients to case studies that demonstrate Urbaqua’s work on real public-sector projects.

A dedicated projects section is the conversion engine, with case study depth that walks through brief, approach and outcome for the kind of partnership work Urbaqua specialises in. This is where the consultancy earns its credibility, by showing tangible work delivered for credentialed clients rather than just listing services in the abstract.

Visually the build sits in a calm, professional environmental palette with aerial photography of wetlands, bushland and coastal landscapes that reinforces the brand’s connection to the WA environment Urbaqua works to protect. The aesthetic balances scientific seriousness with the warmth that signals approachability to project partners.

As the parent of the Thriving Perth Portal initiative, Urbaqua’s site sits as the lead brand in a small portfolio of related properties, with cross-linking between the consultancy and the portal that strengthens both. Long-standing client relationship dating back to 2021, with the build supporting ongoing project and partnership work.

The result is a not-for-profit consultancy site that earns its authority through evidence. It surfaces the six service lines clearly, gives project work the depth it deserves, and carries the calm professional voice that resonates with the WA government and council audiences Urbaqua serves.
