What we built in

Robson Brothers 4WD has been servicing Perth’s four wheel drives from their Welshpool workshop since 1995. Their old website was stuck on an ageing platform nobody could update, so DeCODE rebuilt it like for like on modern WordPress, tidied the design, sharpened it up on mobile and handed back the keys.

Robson Brothers 4WD is one of Perth’s most trusted 4WD service centres. What began with Rob Robson working out of a small workshop in 1995 has grown into a fully equipped 600 square metre facility in Welshpool, with a team of diesel mechanics whose off road experience spans decades of competitions, outback touring and weekends spent getting muddy. From log book servicing and mechanical repairs to suspension upgrades with Old Man Emu, King Springs and Outback Armour gear, they look after Patrols, Land Cruisers, Hiluxes, Rangers and everything in between.

Their website told the right story, but it was built on old technology that nobody could get into. Every change, no matter how small, was out of reach. A phone number, a service detail, a new team member: none of it could be updated, and the platform it sat on was only getting older.

The site itself did not need reinventing. It needed rescuing. So rather than throw away a design that customers already knew, we recreated it like for like on modern WordPress with Beaver Builder, rebuilding every page from the ground up on a platform the team can actually use.

Along the way we gave it a quiet tune up of its own. The design and content were tidied throughout, imagery was cleaned up, and the whole site was reworked to behave properly on phones and tablets, where most of their customers now find them. The bold black and red workshop character stayed exactly where it belongs, front and centre.

The result looks reassuringly familiar to anyone who knew the old site, but underneath it is a completely new machine. The Robson Brothers team can now log in and change anything they like, from service descriptions to blog posts to booking details, without waiting on anyone. Their website is finally as easy to work on as the 4WDs in their workshop.
