Lifetime Electrics is a licensed Perth electrical contractor working right across the metropolitan area, from powerpoints and lighting in family homes to fit-outs, compliance and maintenance for local businesses. Jay Rawlings has been an electrician for more than twenty years and an electrical contractor since 2016, and he still quotes and completes most of the work himself. The business is deliberately small, and that is the whole point of it.
The challenge was making a small operation read as a serious one without losing what makes people choose it. Lifetime Electrics needed a site that could carry the newly refreshed brand, explain a genuinely broad range of electrical work without turning into a wall of text, and get a busy homeowner or business owner from landing on the page to picking up the phone. It also had to earn its place in local search, because most of these jobs start with someone typing a suburb and a problem into Google.
We built it in WordPress with a clear pathway structure at its centre. Rather than one long services page, visitors choose the lane that matches their situation: residential, commercial, renovations, maintenance or call outs. Each pathway is its own destination with its own detail, its own calls to action and its own internal links, which keeps the journey short and gives every service area a page worth ranking.
The projects gallery is the piece that does the heaviest lifting. Completed jobs are published as their own custom post type, each one written up properly with photography, the type of work involved and the Perth suburb it happened in. Visitors filter the grid by category to find work like theirs, and every entry doubles as a local search signal, tying real jobs to Fremantle, Warwick, O’Connor and everywhere else the van turns up. It is the difference between claiming you cover the metro area and showing it.
Local SEO was built into the structure rather than bolted on afterwards. Page hierarchy, headings, metadata and internal linking all follow the approved sitemap, service pages are written around the language people actually search with, and the project entries keep adding fresh, suburb-anchored content over time. Search Console and Analytics went in at launch alongside sitemap submission and manual indexing, so the site started reporting from day one.
Then there is the pricing page, which most electricians will not go near. Lifetime Electrics publishes real figures for the jobs they get asked about most, from a double GPO through to a three phase switchboard upgrade, with honest ranges where a job genuinely varies. It is a confident thing to do and it filters enquiries beautifully, because the people who call have already decided they are comfortable with the number.
Rounding it out are a custom team section that puts faces to the business, including Freya the Chief Morale Officer, service pages built on custom fields for easy editing, Gravity Forms enquiry and callback forms with SMTP delivery so nothing goes missing, and click-to-call throughout for the significant share of visitors reading on a phone at the meter box.
The result is a site that looks like the work Lifetime Electrics does. Neat, straightforward, nothing hidden, and built to last the life of the business.
